The Second Symposium on High-Quality Development of Applied Universities in the Nine Yellow River Provinces and Regions was held at Shanxi Datong University on August 26, 2026. LABPARK attended as a supporting organization. Representatives of higher education societies, university leaders, academics and enterprises discussed applied university development, program optimization, industry–education integration and new approaches to talent cultivation.

The meeting focused on the development of high-level applied undergraduate institutions, the “Double Excellence” initiative and priorities for China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period. Plenary and parallel sessions examined how universities can strengthen their distinctive missions, improve their subject portfolios and work more closely with industry to serve regional development.

University missions, industry needs and student development

Keynote presentations addressed differentiated university reform, enterprise-led university–industry innovation, “Double Excellence” development and the construction of high-level applied universities. Speakers connected policy trends with institutional reform and regional demand, considering university positioning, the relationship between academic programs and industry, and graduates’ contribution to regional economies.

Three parallel sessions were held. In the session on modern industry colleges and talent-development models, LABPARK General Manager Wang Hang presented as an enterprise representative, joining university experts to discuss industry colleges, university–enterprise collaboration and the preparation of applied professionals.

From individual apparatus to integrated practice platforms

LABPARK’s work spans conventional laboratory teaching apparatus, integrated engineering practice platforms, multimodal training and platform-based products, as well as customized equipment for university research. Starting from real teaching situations and engineering tasks, the company is developing equipment into broader platforms that support courses, engineering training, innovation and research.

The symposium offered direct insight into the needs of different applied universities as they update programs, develop industry colleges and reform practical teaching. LABPARK will continue to work with universities and specialists to align equipment development with student learning and engineering practice, supporting program development and the preparation of skilled applied professionals.
